Upper Elementary Academic Bowl

Upper Elementary Academic Bowl is for students in the 5th and 6th grade. The team may be comprised of all 5th grade students or all 6th grade students or a combination of both. Younger students may play up. Post 6th grade students may not play on a UEL team. Schools may enter multiple teams. A separate entry fee is required for each team. UEL Teams are assigned to area groups after the enrollment period has ended.
Younger students may play up but students post-6th grade may not play on an Upper Elementary Team.
Playoff Structure and Competition Dates
All OAAC tournaments are round-robin events.
All teams play in the district and regional tournaments. The rank of a team in the District competition will determine the future path. Each team is guaranteed at least 3 tournaments. UEL competition ends at the Area Championship.
Competition Dates
Districts - November 17th- Dec 18th
Region - January 5th - 23rd
Firebird - January 26th - Feb 18th
Area - March 7th (Set Date)
Back up date March 28th
Phoenix - Anytime after Firebird and not on Area Saturday
Planning Dates and Locations
We use Google Docs to share dates and plan for each level of tournaments. You will receive a link to the Google Doc for your group when you receive your Area assignment.

Format
All OAAC tournaments are round robin or modified round robin tournaments. All OAAC tournaments use the OAAC Academic Bowl Rules.
Awards
Each school will receive access to a digital certificate for personalization and printing.
Team Champion and Runner-up plaques are given at each of the preliminary tournaments.
Area Champion through 4th place plaques, coaches awards and individual medals are awarded at each area championship tournament.
